Kids Summer Camp Itinerary
 |
SUNDAY (JUNE 7, JULY 26) - 4:30 Pm.
Meet and Greet w/ parents and students.
This allows an opportunity for the parents and Instructor to meet. Student folders, waivers, rental forms and all other paperwork will be taken care of at this time. We will view the Youth Diving DVD. If any parent need’s to discuss any issues with the instructor privately regarding, learning disabilities, medication’s, allergies or other medical issues, time will be allotted for that as well.

| Each student is required to have their own personal gear before the start of camp. The gear required is as follows: mask, snorkel, gloves, fins, booties, weights and a weight belt. Every student attending the summer camp will enjoy a lifelong 10 percent discount off of gear purchases at our dive center. The instructor will do a brief presentation of the various items needed and then will help each child individually ensuring proper fit and function. Please note: if any of the children attending already have gear, please bring it along this evening so that instructor can take a look and make sure that it will suffice for the requirements. |

Monday (June 8, July 27)- 9am-Meet at Dive Center.
9am-12pm: Orientation, DVD-Section 1 & 2, Chapter 1 presentation, knowledge review and quiz. Gear setup demonstration. Gear outfitting, complete gear setup and tear down practice and procedures.
12pm-1pm: Lunch Break (We will provide brown bag lunch, drinks)
1pm-3pm: DVD Section 3, Chapter 2 and 3 presentation, knowledge reviews and quiz

Tuesday (June 9, July 28)- 9am-Meet at Wai Lani Pool.
(Please note maps and directions will be provided to all locations for water activities pool and open water dive sites). |
9am-9:45am- gear setup and equipment checks.
9:45 am-10:30am: Swim tests (All students are required to perform either a 200 yard swim any style but doggie paddle or a 300 yard mask, fin, and snorkel swim. The swim test is not timed but each student must maintain forward momentum at all times. Upon completion of the swim, each student must perform a ten minute survival float which can consist of treading water, floating on their backs, or a combination of the two.)
10:30am-12pm: Confined water dives 1-2.
12pm-1pm: Lunch Break (Pizza!)
1pm-3pm: Confined water dives 3-5. |

Wednesday (June 10, July 29)- 9am-Meet at Dive Center
9am-12pm- DVD Section 4 & 5, Chapter 4 and 5 presentations, knowledge reviews, and Chapter 4 quiz.
12pm-12:30pm- lunch (Brown Bag lunch provided drinks, sandwich, chips and cookies).
12:30pm-1:15pm-Dive Table Contest (Prizes will be given out!)
1:15pm-1:45pm-review for final
1:45pm-3pm- Final (Please note- the final exam is not timed) |

Thurday (June 11, July 30)- 9am- Meet at the Sunset beach.
9am-11:00am: Open Water Dive 1 and practice
11:00am-12:00pm: Nature walk on beach and Wildlife Conservation Presentation
12:00pm-1:00pm: Lunch Break (We will provide brown bag lunch drinks, sandwiches, chips, and cookies).
1:00pm-3:00pm: Open Water Dive 2 and obstacle course contest (Prizes will be rewarded). Logbooks and logbook procedures. Gear tear down and cleaning practice and procedures. |
Friday (June 12, July 31) - 9am- Meet at Hudson Grotto.
9am-12pm- Open Water Dive 3 and Land Compass Course Contest
12pm-1pm-Lunch Break (BBQ lunch on the grill-hamburgers, hotdogs, drinks, chips).
1pm-3pm- Open Water dive 4. Logbooks and logbook procedures. Gear tear down and cleaning practice and procedures. |

*PLEASE NOTE: STUDENTS WILL NEED TO MEET BACK AT THE DIVE CENTER SO THAT YOU GET YOUR TEMPORARY CERTIFICATION CARDS. |
